Functional impact
Kamikaze DUO — two Poppers rush the biggest ground threat and detonate on contact. Instead of damage over time, they resolve in one bang:
- Kamikaze — detonates on enemy cards, truck, support crew, or stock tower — one-shot removal within the target's role
How to play
Drop Poppers in the path of tanks or swarms — their explosive charge shreds groups. Pair with ranged units so they finish before the boom lands.
Kite them with fast, cheap units to waste the blast, or pick them off from range before they reach your key cards. Splash damage clears them fast.
Flavor
Dough-born duo that charges in and blows up on contact. Kamikaze defenders!
Rise, my sous chefs!
Backstory
Poppers started as a bakery accident. A dough station near an open pilot light produced two loaves that proofed too long, browned too fast, hissed once, and detonated — taking out the oven, the prep table, and the head baker's eyebrows. The head baker patented it that afternoon. The Federation bought the recipe within the year. Every Popper deployed on the arena is baked to spec: yellow uniform pressed, headband tied, kerchief straight, and eager.
